The project of the new Khouribga Media Library is a study of an architecture of removal, an architecture that comes from carving out of a monolithic mass. Each department of the médiathèque develops within its own distinct mineral and crystalline form, each deployed at the periphery of the site so as to create an identifiable and strong urban presence. The program is carved out to offer differentiated yet continuous spaces that are functional yet qualitative. The ensemble of crystals are linked by a large and flexible common space, that creates a centrality to the project where all lives, services, and functionality inherent in a médiathèque can meet. Each separate department has its own dedicated patio/garden space, recreating a program-specific and building-contextual rapport of nature, offering serene and peaceful exterior spaces in relation to their interiors.
